Korean car check by VIN number
Official data from Korean insurance databases: payout amounts, repair lists, mileage by source, taxi service and ownership history — decoded into plain language.
What the report shows
Eight blocks of data from official Korean sources — from a single VIN
Mileage history
Odometer readings with dates and source: insurer, marketplace, inspection. This is how rollbacks get caught.
Accidents and repair costs
Claim count, role (at-fault or victim), payout amounts in KRW and the split between parts, labour and paint.
What was actually repaired
The list of body panels and units with the type of work: replacement, panel beating, paint, rail straightening.
Flood damage
Whether water reached the engine or cabin. Flood cars surface in bulk after the rainy season and look fine from outside.
Theft and total loss
Whether the car was reported stolen and whether an insurer wrote it off as a total loss.
Taxi, car-sharing, rental
Commercial use with dates. Two years as a taxi adds the mileage a private owner needs seven years to reach.
Owners and plates
How many times the owner and plate changed, when, and under which usage class the car was registered.
Specs and manufacturing date
Make, model, engine, body, colour and the manufacturing date that decides customs eligibility.
Sample report
This is what a finished report looks like: a demo car with a troubled history — former taxi, two claims and heavy mileage
The absence of accident records does not mean the vehicle is undamaged

Insurance events that particularly affect the quality of the vehicle.
If the repair cost exceeds the value of the vehicle, or repair is impossible, the vehicle is written off as a total loss.
An insurance event where a stolen vehicle was not recovered within 30 days of the police report and the insurer paid out.
An insurance event where water entered the vehicle.
37머5182 Accident information cannot be provided for periods when the vehicle was not insured
Depending on the source of the payout and the estimated repair cost, claims are split into those paid by your own insurer (own vehicle insurance) and those paid by the other vehicle's insurer (third-party insurance).
* If a damage and repair record is processed simultaneously under both your own and the other party's insurance due to shared fault, it appears only under «Own vehicle insurance» and is omitted from «Third-party insurance».

The cost of repairing the vehicle after an accident, excluding consequential and shared-fault losses (transport damage, rental loss, downtime), out of the payout provided by the insurer.

Questions about the report
How is this different from what Encar shows?+
Encar shows a summary: how many claims and their total. The full report opens each claim — what was repaired, how much parts, labour and paint cost — and adds ownership, plate and commercial-use history.
Can I get a report for a car already exported from Korea?+
Yes, the history stays tied to the VIN. For exported cars some fields may be empty, such as the manufacturing date or the current valuation.
What if there's no data for the VIN?+
That happens with cars that never had an insurance claim and were sold privately. We verify data availability before payment and warn you if the report would come back empty.
Does the report guarantee the car is fine?+
No. It shows documented history, not current condition — cash repairs never enter insurance databases. Before a major purchase we recommend adding a physical inspection in Korea.
What language is the report in?+
Russian or English. We decode Korean insurance terminology by hand — machine translation confuses 'replacement' with 'repair' and 'at-fault' with 'victim'.
